Our Story

- BOB MARTIN -
a Legacy of Flowers

Bob Martin's love for flowers began early in life, leading him to pursue a degree in horticulture, specializing in floriculture at the University of Minnesota. After graduation, he excelled in the agriculture industry, eventually rising to a top position in an international seed company.

His expertise and passion for plants inspired not only his professional achievements, but also his lifelong dedication to cultivating beauty and sharing it with others.

Our Journey

- THE RED BRICK FARM -

In 1975, Bob decided to go off on his own and bought a 40 acer produce farm. Over the next two decades he and his family created a popular destination in upstate New York.

Along with an antique furniture store in a 100 year old brick barn and a country bakery; they sold fresh fruits & vegetables, lot of flowers; and built their first of many greenhouses.

23 Years

- GROWING & SELLING -

The Martin family poured their hearts and souls into The Red Brick Farm, creating cherished memories and enduring bonds. As the farm prospered, so too did the Martin children.  Eventually, Steve and Dave, the two youngest siblings, assumed responsibility for the farm's operations, carrying on their father's legacy with pride and determination.

During those 23 years, the greenhouses and the roadside stand became a symbol of their hard work and commitment to all their customers.

"Always Growing"

- A FAMILY MOTTO -

Dave Martin, fueled by his father's legacy and his own passion for plants, dedicated the next 30 years to the agricultural industry. Meanwhile, Steve Martin's dream of establishing his own garden center in Utah had been germinating for two decades as he worked with greenhouses throughout the state. He envisioned a place were locals can come to get quality, expertly cared for plants without having to drive a long distance or settle for what they could get at a box store. His sister, Kris agreed and their spouses Wenda and Mike caught the vision.

After months of planning and preparation with the help of Dave, Jeff and his family, the dream became reality!

On April 20 2024, with a business license in hand and a tent erected with the help of Ben and the Daves, the family is ready to embark on the next chapter in Bob's legacy.  Blooms Nursery is now open for business, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

Quality Plants

Our dedication to quality extends to our three partner greenhouses— Sunshine Greenhouse in Provo, Laughing Owl Greenhouses in Benjamin, and Butterfield Gardens in Sandy. These renowned operations are the top in the state and have the same honest, hardworking, get-it-done ideals that Bob instilled in each of his children.

All of the plants are grown with knowledgeable, expert  care, ensuring that every plant we offer is carefully selected and nurtured to thrive in its new home.
